EEva Shaw likes it a little weird. The indefatigable DJ, who next gigs this Saturday, March 1st at the bi-level HQ Nightclub in Atlantic City’s Revel, appreciates creativity from her fans and social media followers. Of which she has many— 40,000 on Twitter and 20,000 on Instagram, and counting.
During her sit-down with ADANAI at Dream Downtown’s Ph-D, Eva shared her strangest devotee story to date. It involves NYC nightclub Provocateur and an unexpected undergarment attack. (For the nitty gritty details, go to the 2:00 mark.) She also spoke about her ongoing love affair with fashion.
The once model who graced the cover of more than one magazine, apparently has no need to do her own clothes shopping. “People send me a whole lot,” she says. Jealous much? Without the tedium of rack surfing to combat, she has her sights set on producing, and not just deep house tracks. Shaw has a mind to eventually release a quirky T-shirt line. Any and all strange fan sketches accepted.
For now though, Shaw has her mind set on mad tunes. Between the release of her first single “Charizma” – given the seal of approval by friend and Grammy Award winner Calvin Harris – and the numerous venues she’s slated to play this year, she finds little time to unwind. When she does though, Shaw tends to like a good Saturday Night Live episode. She says she loved seeing Drake as a recent host and musical act. Maybe something to do with the fact that he hails from her hometown in Canada.
